6 Timeless Kitchen Countertop and Backsplash Combinations

When picking out materials for your kitchen's countertops and backsplash it is important that it is elegant, timeless, easy to maintain, durable and of course, suits YOUR needs and aesthetic.

The 3 "Must Ask" questions are:

1.Who lives there? Do you have kids?

2.How do you use your kitchen? Do you cook and spend lots of time in the kitchen or do you prioritize aesthetics and would like something that looks amazing in the heart of your home?

3.What is your budget? Think about installation and a contractor cost and also material cost.

Here are some of our favorite Countertop & Backsplash combinations:

1.Solid Slab: A matching slab for the counter and the backsplash is such a clean, beautiful and seamless look! A big pro with this is that you only need to choose one material and have more time picking out cabinetry and lighting instead. Also, fewer to no seams makes it a lot easier to clean!

A great option for this look is quartz.

2.Heavy Veined Stone & simple tile backsplash: For this look the countertop is the focal point and the main attraction. In this case, going with some simplistic, less busy tile would be great, so that you can let the countertop shine!

3.Artisan tile style: For this option you can use glass, ceramic, clay, metal or cement tile. The statement here is the backsplash! Therefore, keeping the counters simple and uniform, so the patterns don't compete with the ones of the backsplash.

4.Colorful Tile: This one is for the bold! In this scenario, again, the backsplash is the star, keep the countertop minimal, clean and neutral to the tile color.

5.Dark and moody: This style is also quite bold and for a specific audience. But we do love it! If you decide to go this route, make sure you bring some wood in for warmth or leave some light or pop of color even if it is just the hardware!

6.Light and Bright: An all-white kitchen never hurt nobody! A white subway tile and veined quartz is a great combo but really you could go with any shape of light bright tile here.

TIPS:

- Wood warms up

- Marble adds elegance

- Quartz can mimic marble as well as concrete without the heavy price tag

- Subway tile allows so many different ways for installation that add depth and dimension

- The busier the backsplash the simpler the counter should be and the other way around
